Overview

- Schengen visa fees and document rules can change; always confirm the current fee and checklist with the specific consulate before applying.
- The Schengen Entry/Exit System (EES) is live at external borders as of April 2026, replacing manual passport stamping with biometric records.
- A visa is issued by one specific Schengen state — the "main destination" you spend the most nights in, or your first point of entry if time is split evenly.
